The carbon offset program or Kyoto Protocol is designed to reduce greenhouse gases. Basically companies by credits based on their greenhouse gas ouput designed to be used to provide methods for absorbing thee greenhouse gases. The idea being that they can diminish or neutralize greenhouse gases by utilizing this program.
